Rachel Elisabeth Brecht and Zachary Curtis Schmit of Cedar Rapids were married on March 20, 2010, at New Covenant Bible Church in Cedar Rapids. Pastor Caleb Plumb was the officiant. A reception followed at the Cedar Rapids Marriott.
Rachel is the daughter of Ben and Dora Brecht of Marengo. Zach is the son of Susan Schrage-Schmit of Coralville, and Jeff Schmit of Waterloo.
Rachel graduated from Iowa State University in 2007 and currently works at KCRG. Zach graduated from Coe College in 2006 and currently works at Gazette Communications.
The couple honeymooned in Jamaica at Sandals Whitehouse Resort.
