Richard Grapes, 84, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, from complications of diabetes. Services were held on May 30, 2025. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Richard was born on February 20, 1941, to Ted and Wilma (Wentz) Grapes. He loved to hunt fish, camp, ride his motorcycle he named “Giddy Up Go”, and watch his favorite show, Gunsmoke.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jane; sons, Roy Grapes, and Randy (Tracy) Grapes; daughter, Roxanne (John) Cryder; daughter-in-law, Robyn Grapes; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rick; and brothers, Duane Lentner and David Grapes.
