Our precious Lord Jesus came and took Jim’s hand to his heavenly home. James (Jim) Hutton, 86 of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025. He’s survived by his wife, Marge, and two children, William (Toby) Tyler and Sandy Aswegan; grandchildren Christopher Lauderdale, Cara Eberle, and Charissa Andrews; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother Dick Hutton; and a myriad of dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Barbara Edmunds.
Jim enjoyed bicycling and running. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Cedar Rapids Kernels, and sang with the Harmony Hawks. He was an Army veteran.
Services are Saturday, June 7 at 11:00 am at Faith Presbyterian Church, 715 38th St. SE, Cedar Rapids, with lunch to follow. Visitation is at 10:00 am. Memorials may be sent to the family to be distributed among his favorite charities: Wounded Warriors, Iowa Donor Network, and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
