IOWA CITY — Iowa football’s 2025 schedule has a couple fewer question marks.
The Big Ten released the start times and TV assignments for seven of Iowa’s 2025 football games on Thursday, including the first four games of the season.
The Hawkeyes’ Aug. 30 season opener against Albany will have a 5 p.m. kickoff and will air on FS1. The annual Cy-Hawk game will be on Sept. 6 at 11 a.m. Fox will broadcast the game, which will be in Ames this year.
Iowa’s Sept. 13 nonconference finale against UMass will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and air on Big Ten Network. The Hawkeyes’ conference opener on Sept. 19 at Rutgers will be a Friday night game, beginning at 7 p.m. and airing on Fox.
Iowa’s annual Black Friday game against Nebraska — in Lincoln this year — will begin at 11 a.m. and be broadcast on CBS. The Rutgers and Nebraska games are Iowa’s only Friday games.
Iowa’s homecoming game against Indiana on Sept. 27 will kick off either at 11 a.m., 2:30 p.m. or 3 p.m. The TV assignment is yet to be determined. Iowa’s Nov. 15 game at USC will kick off either at 2 p.m. or 2:30 p.m., also with a yet-to-be-determined TV assignment.
Other 2025 games with yet-to-be-announced start times and TV assignments include Oct. 11 at Wisconsin, Oct. 18 vs. Penn State, Oct. 25 vs. Minnesota, Nov. 8 vs. Oregon and Nov. 22 vs. Michigan State.
This will be the third season of the Big Ten’s seven-year TV contract with Fox, CBS and NBC.
