Bonnie Kay Mathews, 75 years, of rural La Porte City, IA, died Sunday, May 25, 2025, at MercyOne Medical Center, Waterloo, IA.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2025, at White Funeral Home, Independence, IA, with a time for sharing at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to charity or the family.

Bonnie was born February 15, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of Vernon C. Jons and Marion (Lentz) Jons. She graduated from Walker High School in 1957. On November 11, 1967, she was united in marriage to Gale Lee Mathews at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Center Point, IA.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Gale of La Porte City; one son, Kelly Mathews of Waterloo, IA; two daughters, Karie (Rick) Catherwood of Vinton, IA, and Katrina (Caleb) Weber of Jesup, IA; also, three grandchildren, Marisa, Faith and Logan. Her parents and three brothers, George, Vernon Jr., and Allen Jons, preceded her in death.
White Funeral Home, Independence, IA, is in charge of the arrangements.
