Jimmy (Jim) Ray Hall, age 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025. Born on November 29, 1944, in Lamont, Iowa, Jim’s life was one filled with love, laughter, and an uncanny ability to remember every birthday and anniversary.
Jim married the love of his life, Kathleen Marie Hinrichs, on November 18, 1972. Together, they celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage, cherishing family milestones and creating countless memories. Jim was a proud father to Brian Hall, Brett Hall, and Jenny Gonzalez, and a beloved grandfather to Adrienne, Samantha, and Sadie Hall; and Jobe and Mathias Gonzalez. His heart always held a special place for his late granddaughter, Alexis Gonzalez, his "little pop stealer."

member of the Knights of Columbus, embodying the values of charity, unity, and fraternity. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathleen; his children; his cherished grandchildren; and his loving sisters, Sue Hall Shapiro and Kay Hall Reglein. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mervin Ray Hall and Catherine Hall Timson.
Jim’s legacy of love, humor and devotion will live in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Send memorial gifts to Camp Courageous, campcourageous.org or St. Ludmila Catholic Church.
