Lyle Boge, 79, died peacefully at his home early Monday morning, May 19, 2025.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, with interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Fr. Sean Smith will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Thoughts, Memories and Condolences may be left at Goettschonline.com.
Surviving are his siblings, John Boge, Martin (Kathryn) Boge, Vincent Boge, Kenneth (Libby) Boge, Mary (Bucky) Williams, Gerald Boge, Kathleen Stimpson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, 2 brothers Daniel and Robert, a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and George Schmalfeldt, a sister-in-law Theresa Boge, and a nephew, Faron Michael Fritz.
Lyle Donald Boge was born January 30, 1946, at the Anamosa Hospital the son of Arthur and Davidee Gilmore Boge. Lyle attended the Anamosa Community Schools. He farmed with his father and milked cows for neighbors. Lyle worked for Beryl Fagen at the feed mill for several years. On July 19, 1967, Lyle began working for the Jones County Roads department – a job he would work for 43 years, retiring January 3, 2011.
Lyle enjoyed rebuilding old tractors. He completed a 1940 John Deere and completed his last tractor a 1948 John Deere A in 2024.
Lyle was a fun-loving and hardworking guy, who was always ready to help a neighbor or friend. He will be missed.
