A Cedar Rapids man was shot to death in Minneapolis last week after a fight inside a vehicle, according to news releases from the Minneapolis Police Department and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
Michael Ray Adkins, 48, of Cedar Rapids, was shot after an altercation in a vehicle escalated to gunfire on May 15, the release states. The shooter fled the scene, in the 2700 block of Columbus Ave. in Minneapolis, and Adkins’ wife drove him toward the Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
Near the hospital, they found and approached an ambulance crew, who transported Adkins the rest of the way to the hospital, where he died from his injuries, which included a gunshot wound to the back.
