John Curtis Godlove
Mercer, PA
John Curtis Godlove, 74, of Lake Latonka, Mercer, PA, passed peacefully at home on May 1, 2025, of natural causes, with his loving wife of 51 years, Cindy Jo (Streb) Godlove, by his side.
Born April 12, 1951, in Sigourney, Iowa, to Robert and Corrine (Mahannah) Godlove, John cherished his wild childhood in Wellman, Iowa.
A 1969 graduate of Mid Prairie High School, he earned a double major in business and accounting from Northeast Missouri State (Truman State University). John and Cindy married on December 1, 1973, at the Little Brown Church in Vale, Iowa.
A successful Chief Financial Officer at Ivex Packaging for 21 years, retiring in 2011, John was active in the Grove City Rotary Club, United Way, and the Grove City Chamber of Commerce. His passion for antique "crocks, locks, and rocks" led to ventures at antique malls and on eBay. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2008, he faced it with optimism and gratitude for his dedicated care team. He also enjoyed creating picturesque spaces around his Lake Latonka home.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; children Ross (Becky), Rachel (Brian Braho), and Linden (John Finazzo); grandchildren Madelyn, Josephine, Eleanor Braho, and Ronen and Rhett Godlove; brother Robert (Cyndee) Godlove and Luanne (Daniel) Ford; and nieces Kristina (Godlove) McClelland and Havala (Osdoba) Schumacher. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
