Summer is right around the corner, which means its prime time for live music, festivals, fairs and family fun. From jazz to rap to country to rock, there’s plenty to listen, dance and sing along to in Eastern Iowa and beyond this summer.

The Central Plaza in Uptown Marion now features a refrigerated loop for ice-skating, a live performance space, play equipment and an enclosed depot building.

City leaders and community members this week will celebrate substantial completion of the roughly $8.35 million Central Plaza project in the heart of Uptown Marion. The plaza includes a refrigerated ice loop, water features, public art and plenty of seating.
