Jane Ann Spellerberg, 83, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Hallmark Care Center. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Celebration of Life service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2025, at Brosh Chapel. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Fairfax. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre are assisting the family at this time.
Jane was born May 21, 1941, in Anamosa, the daughter of Donald and Agnes (Clark) Dollarhide. She graduated from Martelle Consolidated High School. Jane was united in marriage to Richard L. Spellerberg on August 1, 1961, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Walford. Jane and Richard farmed together for many years. She enjoyed reading, daily walks at Westdale Mall, dancing, tending to her flowers, and most of all spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
Jane is survived by her children Richard “Rick” (Minoo) Spellerberg, Lawrence “Larry” (Cindy) Spellerberg, and Mary (Kirk) Montgomery; five grandchildren Mosa Shayan, Ryan Spellerberg, Sara Warnecke, Katelyn Montgomery and Regina Montgomery and her sister Sandra Keller; as well as her great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Spellerberg, son Michael David Spellerberg, mother Agness (Clark) Darsee-Bliss, stepfathers Garold Darsee, Merle Bliss, and Stepbrother David (Vi) Darsee.
