Cody J. Poppe, age 48 of Lowden, passed away on Friday April 25, 2025. There will be a memorial visitation held at the Lowden Fire Department on Sunday, May 4 from 1-4 p.m.
Cody was born on November 6, 1976 in Maquoketa to Steve and Rhonda (Willman) Poppe. He married Shannon Stolte on August 12, 1999 in Tipton.
An avid outdoorsman, Cody found peace and joy in nature. He loved to hunt, fish, and ride ATVs. Whether it was a friendly game of bags, a weekend spent with loved ones, or a quiet moment in the woods, Cody embraced life to the fullest.
Cody was a dedicated member of the Lowden Fire Department, where he served his community with pride for many years. Always the first to lend a helping hand, he embodied the spirit of service and selflessness both on and off duty.
He treasured his time with family and friends, and those lucky enough to know him will remember his big heart, his booming laugh, and the way he made every gathering better just by being there.
Cody is survived by his wife Shannon; daughters Mackenzie and Sophie; mom and dad Steve & Rhonda; sister Tammy (Poppe) Ernst; niece Olivia and nephew Elijah; Grandmother Lois Poppe; mother and father-in-law Jo & Dave Current; brother-in-law DJ Stolte; numerous aunts & uncles; and his dog Chance.
Chapman Funeral Home has Cody and his family in their care. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.chapmanfh.com.
