Amy Lynn Headington, 55, of Cedar Rapids, died after a courageous battle with dementia on Saturday, April 19, 2025. Amy’s body was deeded to the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
A Celebration of Life will be held on 2 pm, May 31, 2025, at Discovery Living 750 N Center Point Road in Hiawatha. Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Amy and her family.
Amy is survived by her parents, Curtis and Sharon of Mt. Vernon; brother, Jahn (Sandy) Headington of Green Bay, WI; nephew, Erik Headington of Blanchardville, WI; great-niece, Emma Rose Headington of Blanchardville, WI; and close friends, Joby McGowan of Seattle WA, and Aaron Schantz of Marion.
Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Huns and Julia Bergsrud, and Arthur and Claribel Headington.
Amy was born on November 6, 1969, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Curtis and Sharon Bergsrud Headington. She graduated from Prairie High School in 1991.
Amy was full of life and loved to dance. She also enjoyed dressing up and always looked her best. Amy was very active in the Special Olympics and participated in many different events. Thank you for sharing your life with us, Amy!
