Scott Mehrhoff, 72, of Gravois Mills/Laurie, MO, area died Friday, April 18, 2025, at Landmark Acute Care Hospital in Columbia, MO.
He was born Aug. 20,1952, in Eugene, OR, son of Jack and Jeannine Mehrhoff.
Scott graduated in 1970 from Centerville High School, Centerville, IA. Scott was drafted into the Army in 1970 and served in Vietnam and later Germany. Scott married his wife, Marinea Politovich, on July 28, 1972 in Germany. After the Army they lived in Centerville, IA to attend community college for a year. Then they moved to Iowa City, IA to further their education at the University of Iowa. Scott worked as a plumber and electrician in the HVAC shop for the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics until he retired in 2014, after 40 years.
In 2016 Scott and Marinea moved to the Laurie, MO, area to permanently make their retirement home. Scott loved to play golf, a sport he excelled at. When he wasn’t busy golfing, he was always helping neighbors, boating, working on projects, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, or using his Case tractor or Kawasaki mule.
He is survived by a sister, Patricia Anderson of Springfield, MO, and wife Marinea. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation arrangements under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles and burial by Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville, IA. The burial will be in the family plot in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, IA.
