Bonnie Sue (BigHeart) Biggart, 39, born February 25, 1986, passed away suddenly due to complications from Marfan syndrome on March 31, 2025.
Bonnie was a butterfly in the wind and a true wanderer at heart. With her electric style and eccentric personality, she made friends quickly, everywhere she went. She was definitely one-of-a-kind and will not be forgotten.
Bonnie continuously advocated for children, working alongside them in the Mental Health and Behavioral Field for almost 20 years. She was also a warrior for social rights and abuse. She remained a safe haven for the wild, the weird and the wonderful.
More recently, Bonnie had taken to the stage performing stand-up comedy in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bonnie was always an entertainer at heart. Her spirit, smile and laughter ~ will be missed by so many.
Bonnie is survived by her fur babies Zelda, Obi and Bean; her brothers Sam Biggart (DeWitt) and Johnny Buck (Ames); her mother, Susan Buck (Cedar Rapids); her grandfather Ray Buck (Cedar Rapids); her favorite aunt, Laura (Biggart) Held, Osceola; and many more aunts, uncles and cousins. Also including countless friends from Cedar Rapids to New Mexico. Bonnie touched the hearts of them all.
She is preceded in death by her loving father, Christopher Biggart; her grandmothers, Bonnie L. Biggart; Mary Linda Biggart, and Karren Buck; her grandfather, Edward Biggart; her uncle Kenric Biggart; and her aunt, Teresa (Biggart) Brantley.
Bonnie will be laid to rest at Linwood cemetery in Cedar Rapids surrounded by her family.
Memorials can be made to The National Marfan Foundation for Team Biggart at give.marfan.org/TeamBiggart.
All are welcome to gather in Bonnie’s memory at the Marfan Walk for Victory in West Des Moines on May 17 to celebrate her life.
