Betty J. (Manahl) Candler, 88, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed on April 16, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Rick) Stellmach of Iowa City; two sons, Dennis and David (Dawn) Candler, of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Mike (Samantha) and John (Na) Stellmach, Josh (Sarah), and Justin (Emily) Candler, Erin (Matt) Hall, Sierra Candler, Kali (Ryan) Wegner, and Cheyenne Yerkes; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty is reunited once again with her husband, John Candler, her siblings, her parents, and many more loved ones up in Heaven.
Betty was born November 6, 1937, in Galena, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Marie (Hahn) Manahl. On Nov. 27, 1954, Betty was united in marriage to John L. Candler in Galena, Illinois. Betty loved her grandchildren and always kept a multitude of photos of them in her wallet. She will be greatly missed. Betty had requested no viewing. The family will host a Graveside Service at 1 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
