Cedar Rapids man charged with drowning dog in bathtub

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids man was arrested Wednesday on charges that he drowned his dog in a bathtub last month.
Jesse Erger, 35, is charged with misdemeanor animal abuse. According to a criminal complaint, he killed his dog, Nash, by holding him underwater in a bathtub March 30.
A warrant with a listed $5,000 bail was issued April 10 for his arrest and he was arrested Wednesday.
