Larry Allyn Swanson, 77, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood. He was born on December 19, 1947, in Manchester, the son of Harold and Dorothy (Kuehl) Swanson. Larry was raised and educated in the Manchester area and graduated from Manchester High School in 1966. Larry continued his education at Iowa State University, receiving an ag business degree in 1970.
On June 5,1971, Larry was united in marriage to Sandy Rigter, in Williams Methodist Church in Williams. Two children were born to this union. Larry was baptized on April 19, 1948, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elkport and was confirmed April 17, 1963, at the First Lutheran Church in Manchester.
Larry had a lifelong love of farming. He also enjoyed kayaking, coffee groups, traveling and spending winters in Arizona.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sandy Swanson of Manchester; his two children, Amy Swanson of Manchester and Jordan Swanson of Madison, Wisconsin; his sister Linda (David) Mickens of Manchester; and three nieces.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to Second Helpings, The Delaware County Food Pantry, or any charity that helps feed people.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Manchester Methodist Church in Manchester, with Reverend Phil Rogers presiding.
Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m.
Private Interment: Thorpe Cemetery – Manchester.
