Randy S. Rempt, 65, from Waterloo, IA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at Allen Hospital of lung cancer on April 8. He was born on July 10, 1959 in Iowa City, IA to Richard and Charlotte (Sharp) Rempt. Randy was raised in Manchester, IA and graduated from West Delaware High School with the Class of 1977.
Randy grew up boxing with the Manchester Boxing Club. He was the first Iowan to win the National Jr. Olympics at the age of 15. He enjoyed watching old Western movies, playing golf and spending time with family and friends.
Randy lived life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his mother Charlotte (Oscar Hicks), his son Bryan (Jenny) Rempt, daughter Sarah Drier, honorary daughter Amy Simon and the love of his life Melissa Hicks for the last 14 years. He has 5 grandchildren and his siblings Terrie Solomon, Joe Rempt and special friend Jerry Randall.
Preceding him in death are his grandparents Joe and Irene Sharp, his father Richard Rempt and sister Chris Argotsinger.
