Hubert Lee Rummelhart, 93, of Iowa City, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, at Atrium Village in Hills. A visitation will be held from 4-7 PM, Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City with a rosary recited at 3:30 PM. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, April 4, 2025, at Memory Gardens Cemetery with military honors accorded by local American Legion’s. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Compassus Hospice or Atrium Village.

Hubert was born on March 23, 1932, in Riverside, IA the son of Clarence and Clara (Shebanek) Rummelhart. He served in the US Army from 1952 through 1954. Hubert was united in marriage to Leona H. Kron on March 4, 1957, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church; she preceded him in death on September 16, 2014. He worked for various construction companies as a foreman over the years.

Hubert was a former member of Moose, Eagles, and VFW. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and going to the casino.

Hubert is survived by his three children, Sandy Jones of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Scott (Michelle) Rummelhart of Hills, IA and Kurt (Trish) Rummelhart of Iowa City; three siblings, Esther Spevacek, Richard Rummelhart, and Joanne Horesowsky; five grandchildren, Nicole (James) Kruse, Brandon and Matthew Rummelhart, and Hunter and Anthony Rummelhart; and three great-grandchildren, Bryce, Brietta and Brody Williams.

Hubert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leona; and five siblings, Elaine Brown, Gertrude Landry, Paul “Ted” Rummelhart, Elmer Rummelhart and Lester Rummelhart.
