Disney favorites ‘Frozen’ and ‘The Little Mermaid’ among shows coming to the newly-renovated theater for upcoming season

CEDAR RAPIDS — Theatre Cedar Rapids has announced its 2025-2026 season.
The 5-show, all-auditorium season accompanies a renovation to the almost 100-year-old building.
The upcoming season will include the following productions:
- Disney’s “Frozen,” Nov. 14 – Dec. 21, 2025. Music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Book by Jennifer Lee. Based on the Disney film written by Lee and directed by Chris Buck and Lee.
- “Guys and Dolls,” Feb. 13 – March 15, 2026. Book by Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling. Music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. Based on “The Idyll of Sarah Brown” and characters by Damon Runyon.
- Disney’s “The Little Mermaid,” April 10 – May 10, 2026. Music by Alan Menken. Lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater. Book by Doug Wright. Based on the Hans Christian Andersen story and the Disney film produced by Ashman and John Musker, and written by and directed by Musker and Ron Clements.
- “Noises Off,” June 5-14, 2026, by Michael Frayn.
- To-be-announced summer musical, July 17 – Aug. 16, 2026.
