Adeline Kate Koester, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully at Vinton Lutheran Home, Vinton, Iowa, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 20, 2025, Trinity Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, with Visitation one half hour prior to the service. Burial: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Avon, South Dakota.
Daughter of German immigrants, Adolph & Maria (Hinck) Koester, Adeline was born at home in Avon, on May 24, 1937. After farming in South Dakota, the family relocated to Iowa in 1941.
Adeline attended Bethany Lutheran High School in Mankato, Minnesota her Junior and Senior years and graduated from Bethany College in Mankato, Minnesota in May 1956.
Adeline lived in St. Paul, Minnesota and worked at 3M in Immigration for 44 years, retiring in 2000. She traveled extensively for work and for fun. Adeline was an avid bowler and golfer, receiving many awards.
Adeline is preceded in death by two sisters, Leola and Margarete; brother, Herman; and two stillborn siblings.
She is survived by sister, Henrietta Mueller; sister-in-law, Lorraine Koester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato, Minnesota, or a memorial of choice.
