Camilla (Cam) Charlene Holverson, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on January 24, 2025. She was 94 years old. Cam was born to Harry (Hop) and Erma Kelly in Clinton, Iowa on February 26, 1930. She graduated from Grand Mound High School, then went on to the University of Iowa where she met Dennie Holverson. She graduated from the University of Iowa in 1951 with a degree in journalism and art. Dennie and Cam got married on June 18, 1955. Then they and their children Dave and Mike, settled in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1967. She loved fishing, watching the Hawkeyes, and history. She spent her time researching the history of Grand Mound, Iowa and their family trees. She also worked for Cedar Service Company. She loved to tell stories to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cam is preceded in death by her husband Dennie Holverson. Cam is survived by her sister Maureen, sons Mike and Dave, four grandchildren Morgan, Alyssa, Alex, and Linsey and three great-grandchildren Carter, Logan, and Oaklyn.
There will be a celebration of life held for Cam at the Antioch Christian Church in Marion, Iowa on April 12 from 10 am- 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Cedar Valley Humane Society in Cam’s Honor: cvhumane.org
