Myra Malinda (Noe) Klopping, age 93, passed away peacefully at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab on Sunday, March 9, 2025, with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 17, 2025 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, on Sunday, also at the funeral home. Following a luncheon at the Vinton Legion Hall, interment will be held at the Garrison Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice, or by extending a kindness to a person in need.
Myra was born on October 26, 1931, in Garrison to Cecil and Anna Martha (Banse) Noe. Myra graduated from Garrison High School with the Class of 1949. She worked at Life Investors in Cedar Rapids prior to her marriage. On September 9, 1962, Myra was united in marriage to Howard Klopping at the Garrison United Methodist Church. Together, Myra and Howard built a life on their family farm near Garrison for 52 years, farming and raising cattle until Howard’s death in 2015. She also worked as a meter reader for the REC.
Myra was an active member of the Garrison United Methodist Church and the U.M.W. She enjoyed membership in the Key Ladies group and volunteered with St. Luke’s Hospice. Myra loved gardening and sewing, and was well known for her skill as a baker, with pies and her special homemade bread as specialties.
Myra is survived by her children, Lee (Linda) Klopping, James (Rosie) Klopping, Susan (Fritz) Noren; 8 grandchildren, Levi (Sarah) Klopping, Logan (Morgan) Klopping, Lindsay (Jeremy) Whorton, Anna (Chris) Sojka, Jake (Liz Stevens) Reisch, Emily (Noah) Earll, Zachary Klopping, and Nicholas Klopping; 9 great-grandchildren, Gracie, Harper, Glenn, Larson, Jerry, Ruby, Nova, Hunter, and Lucas; her sister-in-law Karen Noe, and brother-in-law John Jellison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard; 4 brothers, Howard, Leroy, Harley, and Melvin Noe, and her sister Lavon Jellison.
