Faye L. (Franzenburg) Nolan, age 87, passed away peacefully at the Keystone Nursing Care Center on the evening of Friday, March 7, 2025.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne with Father Jacob Dunne as celebrant. Visitation will be held from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM on Wednesday, also at the church. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, rural Van Horne. Memorials may be directed to the Keystone Nursing Care Center. In care of Bill Nolan 705 4th Avenue Van Horne, IA 52346.
Faye was born on October 25, 1937, on the family farm near Keystone to Howard and Norma (Pickering) Franzenburg. Faye graduated from Keystone High School with the class of 1956. On October 19, 1957, Faye married William “Bill” Nolan at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne. Together, Faye and Bill built a life on their family farm near Van Horne over their 68 years of marriage.
Faye was an accomplished musician and gave lessons on the accordion for a number of years. She served as the church organist for almost 50 years at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Known for her bubbly, outgoing personality, Faye never met a stranger. In addition to her musical talents, Faye enjoyed sewing in her leisure time. Faye and Bill were charter members of Tara Hills Golf Club in Van Horne, where they enjoyed golfing and spending happy times with friends and family.
Faye is survived by her beloved husband Bill; her children, Michelle (Gary) Schoening of Vinton; Kevin (Andrea) Nolan of Van Horne, Greg (Lori) Nolan of Dysart; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Charlie Parizek; 3 brothers, Gary, Gene, Jim Franzenburg; and her in-laws, Leo, and Thelma Nolan.
