Trump’s policies aren’t making America great

I use a variety of news sources, including The Gazette, to be aware of the goings-on of the community and country. It is disheartening to read and hear of the actions of our president, and the inaction of Congress. My comment during the run-up of Donald Trump’s first election in 2016 was that this billionaire (so-called) will not take care of us ordinary citizens no matter his pronouncements. Just by observation I could see he was (and is) a self-focused, crass and uncaring individual. Now with his sidekick Elon Musk, he is even less compassionate than before.
I am for reducing the size of the federal government, but not with present scorched-earth operation. In my view the country is in line for four years of pain, and rather than making America great again, Trump policies will make this country simply second-rate.
