Robert Dale "Bob" Hansen, 85, passed away on March 3, 2025, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Bob was born on November 25, 1939, in Center Junction, Iowa, to William and Elsie Hansen. He grew up with a strong sense of community and family, values that remained central throughout his life. On April 4, 1964, he married the love of his life, Jane Hamilton, at The Little Brown Church. Their union was filled with love and devotion for over six decades.
Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army while stationed in Germany. Upon returning home, he dedicated himself to his family and community. He was an active member of the Jaycees and spent time coaching Little League, sharing his passion for sports with younger generations. His career included many years of owning/operating Bob’s Feed Center and Hog Farming.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Bob was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Iowa Hawkeyes. When he wasn’t cheering on his favorite teams, he took great pride in maintaining an immaculate yard and had a deep appreciation for old cars—especially Kaisers.
Bob cherished time spent with friends during Happy Hour at The Hale Tap, where laughter and camaraderie were always in abundance. Above all else, he treasured his family. He is survived by his beloved wife Jane; sons Brad Hansen and Curt (Julie) Hansen; brothers Larry (Judy) Hansen and Norman Hansen; grandchildren Jessica (Tim) Schroeder, Pete (Jayme) Caspers, Michael (Amanda) Caspers, Peyton Hansen, and Nicholas Hansen; as well as three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Kenneth Hansen; and daughter Amy Hansen.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on March 10, 2025, at North Madison Pioneers Cemetery in Center Junction, Iowa (12197 95th Avenue). A luncheon will be hosted at Olin United Methodist (Brick) Church following the services.
Bob’s legacy of kindness, dedication to family, and passion for life will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
