CEDAR RAPIDS — The Cedar Rapids Police Department is investigating a homicide after a woman was found dead Friday in southwest Cedar Rapids, according to a news release from the police department.
Brittany Hopkins, 38, of Cedar Rapids was found dead outside by officers, after they responded to a report of a deceased individual in the 2100 block of Westdale Drive SW at 8:32 a.m. Friday.
Police sent a news release Friday indicating they were investigating a death, and Hopkins’ name was released Monday with the update that the death is being investigated as a homicide. Police have asked for witnesses or anyone with information about Hopkins’ death to call 319-286-5491.
