Donna Urban, 71, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 15, 2025, after a short illness. Per Donna’s request, there will be no formal services. A short graveside memorial and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donna was born on July 27, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Henry and Leona Urban (Shupitar). She graduated from Jefferson High School and went on to work at Link Belt Speeder/FMC and Iowa Precision. Later, she fulfilled a dream by owning and operating Urban’s Bar in Swisher, Iowa. After selling the bar, Donna enjoyed semi-retirement, spending cherished time with her friends and family while working various part-time jobs. She was a big fan of Elvis and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Donna is survived by her sisters Janice Donner, Jackie (Bill) Barber, Teresa (Ed) White; 1 niece, 6 nephews, and multiple great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Hank, mother Leona and brother-in-law Larry Donner.
Donna will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, laughter, and spirit left a lasting impact on everyone around her.
