Ann E Weaver, 73, of Anamosa passed away Friday, February 21, 2025.
Anna “Ann” Elizabeth Weaver, loving wife and mother, was born in Meriden, Connecticut on November 4,1951. She was raised in Houlton, Maine. She met her lifetime companion and husband Samuel David Weaver“ Dave”, in 1968 while he was working in Maine. They were married on July 8,1968 and eventually settled in Iowa with their family.
Ann showed her love by cooking and baking for family and friends. She worked as a cook for much of her life. Family and friends would agree that she had a one-of-a-kind laugh and a great sense of humor.
Some of Ann’s favorite things included fishing with her family, researching cookbooks, enjoying lighthouse memorabilia reminiscent of her childhood, bird watching, playing Scrabble, playing cards with friends and baking, and cooking, and loved all things that had to do with the color purple. Nothing was more important to Ann than her family and close friends. In later years, she was happiest when seeing her grandchildren.
Ann is survived by her husband, Samuel “Dave” Weaver; son David (Brandi) Weaver; daughter Kimberly (Jeff) Weaver Steffensmeier; son Robert Weaver; and daughter Sarah Weaver. She is also survived by her grandchildren Adam Weaver, Luke Weaver, Sydney Weaver, Sean Weaver, Alex Oude Alink, Chelsea Steffensmeier, Alyssa Steffensmeier, Taylor Steffensmeier, Christian Steffensmeier, Grace (Zac) Ceresa, Karson Steffensmeier, Bria Steffensmeier, Kristen Weaver, Robert Weaver Jr., Lyli Webster, and Draven Webster; and her great-grandchildren Mya Olajiga and Mila Weaver. Her surviving siblings include Mary (Tim) Bennett, Gordon Stairs, and John Stairs.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Stairs; her stepfather, Hazen Stairs; and her brother, Keith Stairs.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Pastor Mark Ortgies will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 am to the time of service.
