Marlon E. Werling, 81, passed away peacefully February 23, 2025. Private family viewing from 10 to 10:45 a.m., Friday, February 28, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Graveside service 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Memorial service 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 327 35th St. NE, Cedar Rapids.
Marlon was born March 4, 1943, near Stanwood, Iowa. He worked for various companies throughout his career and retired after 13 years at Dental Prosthetic Services as a dental lab technician. His greatest adventure was climbing to the top of an erupting volcano in Guatemala in 1993. He enjoyed traveling, especially along the Mississippi River. His true love was Jesus Christ and his church family.
He is survived by his sons, Craig and Jeff Werling; brother, Kenneth Werling; grandchildren, great- grandchildren, many cousins, and longtime loyal friend, Rae Ann Schaefer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beryl and Paula Werling; sons, Brett and Daniel Werling.
