Walter Read Swain, 68, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away December 29, 2024, at Croydon
University Hospital in England from complications due to early onset Alzheimer’s disease.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life to be held from 11am to 2pm on
Saturday, March 1 at the IBEW-Miller Hall, 1211 Wiley Blvd SW, in Cedar Rapids.
Walter is survived by his wife, Amanda of Lymington, England; his mother Ruth Swain of Cedar
Rapids; his children Joel (Shawna) Swain of Bondurant, Iowa and Kim (John) Armstrong of Palo, Iowa; his grandchildren Isla Swain and Henry Armstrong; his brother Michael Swain (Debbie) of Cedar Rapids; and sisters Karen (Lynn) Kruse of Cedar Rapids, Leighann (Tim Henderson) of Kearny, Arizona and Carla (Tommy) Barrow of Marion, Iowa.
