Cynthia Constance Wiseman “Cyndy” was born on June 19, 1954, in Chicago, IL and passed away on Friday February 14, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA. She is survived by her daughter Bri (Jamie) of Marion, her brother Bob (Jean) of Clemson, SC, nieces and nephews Alexa, Jack (Sophie), Sophia, Ava and Dominic and her granddogs Maggie and Tucker. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Josephine.
Cyndy moved to Iowa in 1990 to be near her family and worked for the US Attorney’s office for years before retiring. Through her work she made several lasting friendships including her dear friend Lee who was always by her side. She amazed people with her computer skills and creativity, sharing her work and willingness to help others learn. She loved gardening, always trying to pass on her green thumb with her ability to make anything grow, and crocheting whenever she got the chance, especially making blankets for any baby she could. Homemade crafts were one of her favorite pastimes, giving gifts which made her so happy to put a smile on someone’s face. She enjoyed doing her nails along with anyone else’s and she never missed a game of bingo with her friends at Irving Point. Her dogs were her world whether they were her own or the therapy dogs that would come to visit her on a regular basis. They would be so happy to see her because she always had the best treats and gave the best snuggles.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 10:30 at Cedar Memorial in the Chapel of Memories with a celebration to follow in the Family Center. Inurnment: Private at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Enough cannot be said for the care and compassion she received during her time at Mercy Hospital and also to her staff and friends at Irving Point for giving her a wonderful last year. That will always be appreciated and never forgotten.
