Jeff Guy, 68, died Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at St. Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids following a brief illness
A visitation will be held on Monday from 4 until 7 at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. Please leave a message on Jeff's page for the family at Goettschonline.com.
Jeffrey Onno Guy was born November 19, 1956, in Ames, Iowa, the son of Onno and Marcille Shoop, Guy. He graduated from Grinnell High School in 1975 and Iowa State University in 1979 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He moved to Monticello where his first job was with Cuckler Buildings. Jeff married Chris Beckman on May 7, 1988, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The couple later parted ways. Jeff was later employed at Cedarapids Inc, Terex and Rockwell Collins. He retired from Rockwell Collins in 2021.
Surviving are 2 children, Emily Guy and Aaron (Shawna) Guy, 2 grandsons, Griffin and Grayer, and his siblings, Terry (Kristi) Guy, Jennifer (Billy) Gilbreaith. He was preceded by his parents.
Jeff was an avid golfer and member of the Monticello Golf Club. He loved to watch college sports and was a Cyclone and Kansas City Chiefs fan. He said his number one accomplishment in life was who he raised, and he was a devoted father and papa.
