James Wallace Arthurs, Jr. of Cedar Rapids, died at his home on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Private burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Teahen Funeral Home and Cremation is assisting the family.
James is survived by his sons, Jim (Jean) of Robins and Paul (Christina Davis) of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Jim Arthurs, Mike Arthurs (Amber), Amy Arthurs (Tom Henry) and Nathan Noble (Jodi Obman); and 2 great-grandchildren, M.J. Arthurs, Jr. and Hank Henry.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Darlene; and daughter, Teresa Noble.
James was born on December 13, 1933, in Sioux City, the son of James and Liela Arthurs. He graduated from Sioux City East Highland High School. On February 10, 1955, James married Darlene Joan Molskow in Sioux City. He worked as a meat inspector for the USDA, retiring in 1995.
James enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching sports, especially football, golf, and basketball. He also liked reading and tackling Sudoku puzzles. Above all, he cherished moments spent with his family and will be deeply missed.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a charity of their choice.
