One person is dead after a crash Wednesday in Johnson County between a van and a semi-trailer, according to a crash report from the Iowa State Patrol.
Enoch Mampuya, 34, of Hotham City, Texas, was eastbound in Interstate 80, east of Iowa City, driving a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van. He lost control and entered the median. He crashed into a semi trailer that already was sitting in the median from a previous crash in the snowy conditions.
Mampuya died in the crash, which happened at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday. The semi trailer was unoccupied and no one else was injured, according to the crash report.
The van Mampuya was driving belonged to V3 Transportation, an Ohio-based transportation company, according to the report.
