Clement “Clem” Henry, 83, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, after a long struggle with CADASIL at West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12, 4:00-7:00 pm, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, February 13, 10:30 am, at Old St. Joseph’s Church, 995 5th Avenue in Marion.
Clem is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia “Ginny”; sons, Todd (Micheline) of Marion, and Kevin, of Des Moines; two grandsons and one great-grandson, along with four siblings, Bernice Tucker, Dorothy Egan, Regina Henry and Ralph Henry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Sarah (Alice) Henry.
Clem was born September 22, 1941 in Waukon, Iowa. He graduated from Waukon High School in the proud class of 1959. He served in the US Army in Germany on the same base that Elvis Presley was stationed. He traveled throughout Europe and developed a love for travel. Clem worked for Shive Hattery and Associates as well as Rockwell Collins. He then retired from the University of Iowa Facilities Service Group after 18 years of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clem’s memory to Cure Cadasil, P.O. Box 390023, Edina, Minnesota 55439.
