Lee Okones, 92, died February 4, 2025, in Ottumwa, IA. He was born October 19,1932 to Cornelias and Matilda Sietsema Okones. He graduated from Wellsburg High School. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict and was discharged in 1954. On September 4, 1954 he married Glenda Harlan in Southern, CA. They lived in California until 1962 and moved to the Cedar Rapids area. He drove truck for Wilson Foods. Lee and Glenda obtained their CNA and worked together. They moved to Texas for a short time and moved to Sigourney in 2013. Lee loved to trap, hunt, and trapshoot. He was a member of the Lancaster Christian Church, and the Sigourney Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Glenda on March 18, 2024, daughter Lauri Glenn Okones, and grandson Michael Okones.
He is survived by his son Lance (Tracy) Okones of Sigourney, daughter Lyndamyrth Stokes of Azle, Texas, 7 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, brother Neil (Janice) Okones Jr. and his sister Thelma Ruter both of Wellsburg, IA.
Arrangements Holm Funeral Home, Sigourney, IA.
Funeral Service will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the Holm Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the funeral home.
Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday February 14, 2025 at Cedar Memorial Cemetery - Garden of The Last Supper, Cedar Rapids.
