She was born October 20, 1938, in Hays, KS to Don and Vona (Grace) Geyer. Her early years were spent in Topeka, KS and suburban Chicago, graduating from high school in Park Ridge, IL. Marcia received her bachelor’s degree from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN and her master’s degree from Indiana University. She taught elementary school in Mt. Prospect, IL.
Marcia married Charles H. Jepsen June 12, 1965, in Des Plaines, IL. Marcia enjoyed guiding her spirited children, planning family vacation trips, sewing, cooking, and reading. She was active in the Grinnell United Methodist Church and Drummond Club.
When Charles retired, the couple moved briefly to Des Moines and later to Cedar Rapids in 2006, living at Water Tower Place and then Cottage Grove Place. The two of them liked playing bridge, participating in book groups, and attending First Presbyterian Church. Finally, Marcia was a real cat lover, and she had a succession of them as companions.
Marcia is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Lisa (Mark Parmenter) Jepsen and Christopher (Laura Brien) Jepsen; grandchildren, Fiona and Orla; one aunt; and three cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three aunts.
