Iowa’s Lucy Olsen shares Big Ten women’s basketball player-of-the-week honors

She scored 28 in the Hawkeyes’ upset of USC on Sunday

IOWA CITY -- Lucy Olsen is a Big Ten women’s basketball co-player of the week.

Olsen averaged 22.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals as Iowa (15-7 overall, 5-6 Big Ten) notched a pair of home wins.

In the Hawkeyes’ 85-80 victory over Northwestern last Thursday, she recorded 16 points, six assists and five rebounds.

Three days later, in Iowa’s 76-69 upset of No. 4 USC, Olsen scored 28 points -- 23 in the second half -- and shot 10 of 18 from the field.

Olsen becomes Iowa’s first Big Ten POW since Caitlin Clark (March 4, 2024). She shares this week’s award with Genesis Bryant of Illinois.
