Loretta Ann Brickley, 70, of Anamosa, Iowa passed away on January 28, 2025. She was born on October 24,1954 in Marshalltown, Iowa. Loretta was best known for her dedicated service as the children’s librarian at the Anamosa Library and Learning Center. Serving in the position for 22 years, her passion for books and her love for children made her a beloved figure in the community.
Loretta is survived by her husband of 48 years, Terry Brickley; two sons, Jack Brickley and Steve (Ashley) Brickley; brothers Dan (Helen) Schmuecker, Dennis (Ellen) Schmuecker, and Doug (Julie) Schmuecker; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Jack Whittlesey and mother Ruth Kruckenberg.
A celebration of life will be held from 2-4 PM on March 8th at the Anamosa Library and Learning Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Friends of the Anamosa Library.
