Dorothy Gayle Young, age 91, of Marion, IA passed away at Terrace Glen Village on Monday, January 27, 2025, following a short illness, surrounded by her loving family.
A private visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 10 AM until a private graveside service at 12 PM with the Certified Celebrant, Dr. James Coyle, officiating.
Those left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her two daughters, Susan Hutchinson, of Anamosa, IA, and Linda (Tom) Doss, of Plainwell, MI. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Lindsay (Travis) Lange, Tyson Mease, and Haley (Allen) Connerley, Tommy Doss, Bobby Doss, and David Doss. Also surviving are her four great-grandchildren, Darby Lange, Tamzin Lange, Emersyn Connerley, Quinley Connerley, and son-in-law, Randy Mease. She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Stephanie Mease, a baby sister, Lois Wagamon, two brothers, Lynn Wagamon, Earl Wagamon, sister Ruth Hamdorf, and a foster sister, Gayle Ewing.
Dorothy was born on April 4, 1933, in Keokuk County, IA. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Mildred (Long) Wagamon. On September 15, 1951, Dorothy married the love of her life, Robert R. Young in Davenport, IA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Terrace Glen Village for all their love and support, they showed Dorothy, while she was in their care.
