Kelly Lois Bennett, 66, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life: 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2025, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood, 520 Wilson Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids.
Kelly was born October 11, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Don and Avis (Mangold) Wilson. She went to North Linn High School. Kelly was united in marriage to Todd Bennett on October 20, 1979. Kelly loved cooking, especially when it was making big dinners, whether it was the holidays or a regular Tuesday. She loved going to haunted houses. Kelly liked camping and mushroom hunting even when it was raining. She loved her family dogs, especially her cocker spaniels and boxers. Above all, she loved her grandkids and the time she spent with them. They enjoyed many picnics and fishing excursions together. She will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Todd Bennett; daughters, Sarah Bennett (Brian), and Stephanie Bennett; grandchildren, Davon (Claire) Bragg, Brenden Drury, and Braden Drury; and sisters, Karla (Doug) Fuller, Lori (Bob) Carpenter, and Teresa Avis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Avis Wilson.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the palliative team at St. Luke’s and all the nurses and doctors for their compassionate care for Kelly.
