Mary Margaret Hasley, 86, of Coralville, formerly of Fairfax, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Sterlingshire Assisted Living, Coralville. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025, at Brosh Chapel. Private family inurnment will be in Czech National Cemetery.
Mary was born February 27, 1938, in Beacon, the daughter of Forrest “Dick” and Florence (Risney) Shipman. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School, class of 1956, and later attended Ottumwa Beauty Academy. Mary was united in marriage to Eldon Hasley on January 15, 1962, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. She worked as a beautician at Mabeline’s, and at Proctor & Gamble for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed collecting antiques, playing cards, needlework, reading, and most of all spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her children Laurie Harper, Cindy Hasley and Richard (Amy) Hasley; four grandchildren Rachael Foley, Clay (Bailey) Harper, Ashley (Zach) Dannen and Travis Hasley; one great-grandson Hayzen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eldon, and a son-in-law Alan Harper.
