Beverly Jean Chavez “Bev” was born on September 30th, 1952 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Beverly was called to the gates of Heaven on Friday January 17th, 2025.
Beverly got her first job in 1970 at Harper’s Laundry in Davenport, Iowa where she pressed uniforms for law enforcement. She was united in marriage to Polo Chavez on November 20th, 1971 in Davenport, Iowa. Beverly and Polo moved to Cedar Rapids in 1972. They had 2 daughters and Beverly was blessed to be a wonderful homemaker to her husband and children.
Beverly enjoyed going to the airport in her younger years to watch the airplanes take off and land. She loved to watch her western tv shows and Metv. Going to the beach and having family barbecue’s was something she always looked forward too. Beverly was a very giving person, with a beautiful heart of gold.
Beverly is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband Polo of Cedar Rapids; daughters Lisa(Shane) Bowers of Cedar Rapids, Sheila(Matt)Trinkle of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren Justis Thede of Marion, Chevelle(Skyler)Wilson of Cedar Rapids, Justin Thede of Cedar Rapids, Tiffany(Trent)Hoffman of Cedar Rapids; great-granddaughter Maysin Hamor and step great-granddaughter Paityn Wilson. Also survived by her siblings Steven Robinson of Davenport, Sharon K Hursan of Cedar Rapids, Cathy(Brad)Hittie of Cedar Rapids, Ricky(Debbie)Elliott of Prairieburg, Darla(Jason)Everett of Cedar Rapids, Malia Williams of Cedar Rapids as well as many nieces and nephews.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents Darrell D. and Shirley McMahon, grandparents Carl and Leora Brose, granddaughter Shana Chavez and aunt Geraldine Spoo.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Beverly’s special friend Vanessa Fields as well as Brittany and Claire from St. Croix Hospice.
