Kathryn Mae Roth 88, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Compass Memorial Healthcare, Marengo, IA.
Kathryn was born August 23, 1936, in Belle Plaine, IA, the daughter of Bruce and Marjorie (Mumby) Border. She attended Belle Plaine High School. On February 19, 1955, Kathryn married Lawrence Roth. They began their life together in Brooklyn, IA. Kathryn was a stay-at-home mother caring for her 7 children.
Kathryn, known as the “Bingo Queen,” also enjoyed playing cards, square dancing, quilting, sewing and watching her favorite TV shows. She loved her gardens and most of all cherished her time with family and grandchildren.
Kathryn was caring and embraced others unconditionally. She had a love for people that showed through her complimentary nature and ability to express her felling honestly. She was a volunteer for the HACAP center in Belle Plaine.
She is survived by her children, Ed Roth of Belle Plaine, Becky (Dwight) Douglas of Belle Plaine, Anita Palmer of Toledo, Ted (Shelly) Roth of Cedar Rapids, Don (Ruthanne) Roth of Provo, Utah, Russ (Kaye) Roth of Rowley, Dale (Melissa) Roth of Williamsburg; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Roth; brother, Carroll Border; sisters, Ruthann Baker, Opal Van Kerckvoorde; grandsons, Dameon Moore, Austin Roth; granddaughter, Faith Douglas; son-in-law, Rob Palmer.
Funeral Service is 11 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine, IA. Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial is at Hartwick Union Cemetery, Hartwick, IA. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.neuhausfuneralservice.com.
