Finally, the Hawkeyes have returned to Los Angeles! Iowa hasn’t been to L.A. in 37 years, and hasn’t played USC since 1983.

What to know: Iowa takes a 2-game winning streak to Los Angeles for its first-ever Big Ten game in the Pacific time zone.
Hawkeye senior forward Payton Sandfort scored 53 points in those two games, with all but two coming after halftime. He was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week with Michigan’s Vladislav Goldin.
Iowa has scored 80 or more points in its last 10 games, the first time a Hawkeyes team has done that since the 1988-89 season.
The four teams that have beaten the Hawkeyes -- Utah State, Michigan, Iowa State and Wisconsin -- are all ranked and are a combined 56-8.
USC is coming off an 82-72 win at No. 13 Illinois Saturday. It was the Trojans’ first road win against a ranked team since 2010.
Eric Musselman is in his first season as USC’s coach. His college record is 230-99. He also was an NBA head coach for three years.
The Trojans’ leading scorer is 6-foot-6 junior Desmond Claude, who averages 15.9 points. He had 31 at Illinois.
All of USC’s top nine scorers played at a different school last season. Four of them are with their third different school.
The last time the Hawkeyes played in Los Angeles, it won NCAA tournament games over Florida State and UNLV in 1988. Iowa’s all-time record in L.A. is 11-6.
