Christopher James McAfee “Mac”, 56, passed away on December 29, 2024, at the Oldorf Hospice House.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Chris is survived by his wife Tanya, his parents Jeanette and Bill Heiberger, brothers Mike of Indiana, Shawn of Cedar Rapids, Patrick of Cedar Rapids, Corey (Katie) of Center Point, nephews and nieces Spencer, Shaelin, Peyton, Kai, James, Beatrice and lifelong friends, Brian and Chris Rogers, Charisse and Shawn Vickerman.
Preceded in death by his biological father, James Marshall McAfee.
Chris was born Feb 8, 1968, to Jeanette and James McAfee in Portsmouth, Virginia. He graduated from Jefferson High School. After high school, Chris completed a five-year apprenticeship training and was a 30-year member as a refrigeration fitter at Plumbers and Pipefitters local 125. Chris mastered his welding skills and was very proud performing his craft for Ace Refrigeration, Pipe Pro Inc, and most recently Modern Piping.
Chris’s true love was his life with Tanya, whom he spent 28 years with, their beloved dog Macie, and spending time with family and friends.
Chris enjoyed many hobbies including watching the Buffalo Bills, motocross, fishing, hunting, golfing and spending time with family and dear friends.
