Marlys Ann Stuefen, 89, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center, surrounded by family. The graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. In the section: Garden of Tranquility.
Marlys was born October 7, 1935, to John and Dorothy (Schlotterback) Erger, Iowa. She married Donald Dean Stuefen on July 26, 1958, in Cedar Rapids. Marlys graduated from Brandon High School and started at Rockwell Collins the following day. She proudly retired after 38 years of service and kept an amazing flowerbed. She loved flowers, hickory nuts and jigsaw puzzles. She loved being a grandma and baking for them made her happy. We will all miss her and hold her in our hearts!
Survivors include her daughter, Janet Steffes of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren: Scott, Christy (Butch), Jennifer (Josh), and Lori (Tyler); great grandchildren: Clayton, Chase, Kyann, MaKaylee, Calen, Kinley, Kiaya, and Tyce; great-great grandchildren, Alaina, Nolan, Kyler, and Daxton; two brothers, Bill (Paula) Erger and Harold (Betty) Erger; one sister, Julie McDaniel; sisters-in-law, Sis and Yvonne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don, two brothers Earl and Joe; two sisters, Darlene and Donna; and a son-in-law, Chuck.
