Anamosa
Carol Townsend, 75, of Anamosa, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at her home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa.
Carol was born on January 16, 1949, the daughter of Vernon and Colleen (Blood) Achenbach. She was a 1967 graduate of Anamosa High School. On February 28, 1970, Carol was united in marriage to Randall Dale “Randy” Townsend in Anamosa. She loved to show her artistic talents at her ceramics club and enjoyed spending quality time with her lunch lady friends. Carol loved shopping and always enjoyed finding a good deal. She was an avid Packers fan. Carol will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her three children, Cory (Jaime) Townsend, Dana Weber, and Jon (Angela Holub) Townsend; a son-in-law, Kyle Weber; eight grandchildren, Kaela, Madison, Cole, Chandler, Camden, Kaitlyn, Ellie Mae, and Kinnick; one great-grandson; sister, Mary Lou; sister-in-law, Bonnie Weltz; special cousin, Dawn (Mike) Seehusen and their children, Zach, Austin, and Walker; several nieces and nephews; and was an adoptive grandma to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Randy in 2012.
